Morgan Whiteaker, LPC
Therapist
I’ve never really connected with the idea that therapists should be a completely blank canvas. There’s this common belief that we shouldn’t share anything about ourselves, but honestly, I think that’s kind of weird. My approach to therapy is simple: show up as a real person. I believe that when I’m authentic and unmasked, it creates space for you to do the same.
I’m a person-centered and progressive therapist, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. We can talk about the things that truly impact your mental health: politics, religion, capitalism, women’s rights, relationships, identity, or whatever else is on your mind. Nothing is off-limits here.
I didn’t always plan to become a therapist. I earned my undergraduate degree in education, but during student teaching I realized I was much more drawn to connecting with and supporting students than standing at the front of a classroom. That led me to counseling, where I also get to incorporate my love of science and understanding how the brain works.
My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are—no masking, no pretending, no judgment. Just honest conversations, genuine connection, and a therapist who isn’t afraid to talk about the hard things.
